Arya Saves the Day Again Meme

The Battle of Winterfell is officially over.

Game of Thrones -- and TV history -- saw its biggest battle nonetheless on Sunday night's episode. ET was alive blogging forth the fashion.

The celebrated episode was expected to bring together more than characters since the testify's premiere in 2011, but that'southward not to say they all made information technology through alive. From the battle field to the crypts of Winterfell -- where women, children and the smart ones (Dany said it, not us) gathered -- the Night King and his ground forces of wights descended upon the castle. Jorah, Beric, Lyanna, Theon, Melisandre and maybe Ghost (we never saw him come back) all met their deaths -- alongside the Nighttime King himself. That'south right, our big bad of the series met his demise thanks to Arya's sneaky ways, every bit she stabbed the mofo right before he killed our Three-Eyed Raven.

7:24 PM:

Jorah's Dead

7:xx PM:

Arya saved the day -- but Jorah but couldn't exist helped. He succumbs to his injuries without whatever last words to his Kahleesi every bit Dany cries over him, with Drogon sensing his mother'southward pain and crouching around her.

DID NOT Encounter THAT COMING

7:16 PM:

The Night King stands over Bran ominously, are Nosotros WERE Sure Bran was going to die.

Drogon!!

seven:06 PM:

The wights all start to stab Drogon and his cries are breaking our hearts. Dany is thrown off her dragon and into harm's way -- until Jorah swoops in to salvage the mean solar day (by mean solar day, we mean only Dany -- this day is only getting worse).

The Crypts ARE NOT SAFE

vii:04 PM:

The dead are rising in the crypt, merely as many had guessed. Gilly runs for her life, as Jon does his all-time to defeat the wights surrounding him outside -- and Dany finally comes in with fire.

"Bran!" Jon yells, every bit Dany insists he goes to help his brother cousin.

The Dead Rise

7:03 PM:

The dead rise all over Winterfell, including Lyanna, several Dothraki and Eddison Tollett. Why didn't they burn down the bodies equally they went? Your estimate is every bit adept as ours.

Fire Doesn't Kill the Night King

7:00 PM:

With her optics on the Night Rex, Dany orders Drogon to exhale burn down -- though burn down doesn't kill her enemy. THEORY: That Targaryen claret, tho???

The Night King smiles as he throws a spear at Drogon -- but he misses.

Jon charges at our enemy on the ground, as he retaliates by raising the expressionless. Within seconds, he's grown a new regular army.

Viserion's Vengeance

6:57 PM:

Those protecting Bran are quickly taken down equally the Night King orders Viserion to breathe fire all over Winterfell.

The expressionless dragon and then goes for Jon and Rhaegal, throwing both the Night King and Jon off their dragons.

Arya Gets a Lilliputian Inspiration

vi:56 PM:

"You lot said we'd meet again," Arya tells Melisandre.

"And hither nosotros are at the finish of the globe," she replies. "What do we say to the God of Expiry?"

The Hound Saves Arya -- Simply Beric's a Gonner

The Boxing Approaches the Crypts

Back in the crypts, the women and children -- and other not-fighters -- tin can hear the wights approaching.

"Open up the door!" men can be heard yelling, but despite the expect of terror on her face, Sansa stands her ground.

Arya Runs for Her Life

6:47 PM:

Arya, now sporting a gruesome wound on her forehead, is hiding in the halls of Winterfell, reminding united states of america of a scene in the trailer where she runs for dear life.

She sneaks around corners, armed with a dragon glass sword, and waits to run across who'due south coming after her. Tranquility as tin be, our daughter with no name hides under a tabular array from a wight'south pursuit. Her quick thinking saves her from a surprise company around the corner, only just equally she tries to trap ane group of wights, another is hot on her tail.

A Vocal of Ice and Burn down

The giant wight is hither, taking out multiple warriors. Our sweet Lady Lyanna of Bear Island isn't scared, however, running towards him and taking out his middle.

The wights are inside Winterfell'southward walls, and we're pretty sure we're not going to get through this episode without losing the castle.

We encounter the Night King for ourselves, and he's on the back of Viserion.

White Walkers Get Smart

6:37 PM:

Bran Wargs!!

6:35 PM:

Theon, guarding Bran, tries to repent for how things went down, but Bran -- equally he does these days -- says it'south in the past.

"I'm going to go now," Bran declares, earlier warging into a murder of crows to encounter what's happening on the boxing field -- and the Nighttime King.

Sansa and Tyrion Get Real

6:33 PM:

"If I was out there right now," Tyrion says in the crypt.

"You lot'd die," Sansa shoots back. "There's nix y'all can do."

"That's why we're down here. None of us can do anything. It's the truth. It's the nearly heroic matter we can exercise at present," she continues. "Look the truth in the confront."

Tyrion suggests that maybe he and Sansa should have stayed married, to which she replies that it simply wouldn't piece of work between them -- because of "the Dragon Queen."

Praise that Lord of Light!

6:thirty PM:

The Unsullied class a barrier for the Red Woman to light the trenches, though they're quickly attacked from every angle.

Nonetheless, Melisandre -- and the Lord of Light -- prevail, igniting the fire the ground forces needs. The Hound (who's not to addicted of fire, but information technology's battle!), Jorah and Beric are still alive, as we await the fate of our other characters.

Time's Upward?

No matter what, the wights continue to overtake the army like a plague.

Attempts to calorie-free the trenches to guide Dany back to to Winterfell are snuffed, and we go a shut up on Grey Worm -- implying his time might be upwardly.

It was looking like the Hound would be victim No. ii... until Arya saved him by shooting an pointer into the White Walker trying to take him downward.

Not Looking Good

Sansa joins Tyron, Varys and Missandei in the crypt, as Dany and Jon struggle to stay on their dragons.

"Pull dorsum!" Lyanna Mormont orders her men to open the gates and give shelter to those who have survived the battle then far.

"To your posts!" they shout as they set for the next attack.

First Expiry of the Episode

6:22 PM:

Sam was near to be our offset death of the flavor, until he's saved by Eddison Tollett -- who gets stabbed through the chest.

6:21 PM:

The Dothraki are ready for action, charging into darkness with their swords blazing -- as the residue of the grouping waits to run across what happens.

"Cease burn down!" the Dothraki scream as the flames of all their swords dim. Not the best sign...

Valar Morghulis

6:12 PM:

Death is definitely coming. "Valar Morghulis," Melisandre tells Grey Worm as she walks by and heads inside the castle.

"There'southward no need to execute, Ser Davos, I'll be expressionless before the dawn," she tells Davos once inside Winterfell's walls, in their first fourth dimension together since he had Jon Snowfall banish her for burning Shireen Baratheon.

Melisandre Brings the Burn

6:10 PM:

After existence MIA this season, Melisandre arrives on horseback to the frontlines. "Do yous speak their tongue?" she asks Jorah.

"Tell them to lift their swords" she says, before delivering a spell in Valyrian and lighting the ground forces'south swords with burn down.

Moving Into Position

The Hound and Gendry movement through the ranks to join the front line -- and then did Sam!

An appearance by Ghost, alongside Jorah, has u.s. hoping our favorite pupper isn't getting ready for his last episode.

Bran heads to his position at the Winterfell weirwood tree to stand as allurement for the Night King as his sisters, Arya and Sansa, await atop the walls outside their childhood dwelling.

Anybody is waiting on aside breath, until Dany's dragons fly above, screeching that something's nigh to begin.
